"Back then, Itachi and I discussed something. I had asked him to define what happiness would look like if he could give it a physical form. If I'm not mistaken, Itachi answered that the shape of happiness might resemble glass. His reasoning made sense. He said that even though you don't usually notice it, its still definitely there. You merely have to change your point of view slightly, and then that glass will sparkle when it reflects the light. I doubt that anything else could argue its own existence more eloquently." — Sannotō Uchiha
Ibitsu Uchiha (うちは山王塔, Uchiha Sannotou) was a former Chemist working in Konohagakure, and the older brother of Madara Uchiha's Father. During the truce made between Senju and Uchiha, Ibitsu was working late on an experiment that could possibly cause an evolution of then Sharingan. However, he was forced to abandon his his research when he came across an escaping Madara Uchiha, who was fleeing the scene of the truce. Later on he continued his research to finally create the Mangekyō Sharingan and be the first ever user. Resulting in a short battle that resulted in Madara's defeat, Ibitsu ran to the Uchiha housing site, where he saw the dead bodies of his fellow clansmen. Due to being in the wrong place at the wrong time, Ibitsu was caught and accused of killing off the Uchiha clansmen, thus leading to the former's defection. Following the defeat of Madara in the First Great Shinobi World War, Ibitsu began forming a new organization under the same name Akatsuki, and served as its leader.
To keep in Akatsuki's shadow, Madara eventually took on the disguise of Tobi, giving orders to Pain in secret. He wears an orange, swirl-patterned mask that reveals only his right eye. When he trained Itachi, he wore a similar mask with black flame-like patterns on it, and he had longer hair than he does now. His hair is cut short from the days of Konoha's founding, and he wears a uniform consisting of a number of bolts and pins, which is usually concealed by his Akatsuki cloak.
While acting as Tobi, he is happy-go-lucky and goofy, something that annoys most of the other villagers. Orochimaru, who believed all the members of Leaf should be serious and calm, was not pleased with Ryun's childish personality, and frequently attacked the latter in a comedic fashion when annoyed. Apparently, Ibitsu is very committed to keeping his identity secret, as he has been seen keeping up his goofy appearance even when no-one was around (at least during the anime's filler arc). Naruto and Sasuke, on the other hand, somewhat appreciate Ryuns's ability to brighten up a gloomy such as theirs. However, once his identity is revealed to everyone in Leaf, Madara largely abandoned his "Ryun" persona, using it only to distract the Eight Man Squad during Sasuke's battle with Itachi. By the Fourth Shinobi World War where his identity is known to the world, Tsunade still calls him Ryun.
Ibitsu was a fairly tall fair-skinned man who on more than one occasion has been compared with Minato in terms of physical appearance; both have bright blue-eyes and spiky hair. Ibitsu's hair would change color from blackish bluish to blonde. Unlike Naruto, Ibitsu had jaw-length bangs framing either side of his face. According to Madara, Ibitsu was considered to be very handsome, as many women were infatuated with him. His normal attire is normally shown wearing a short-sleeved long white coat over his normal attire, decorated by flames-like motifs on the edges, with the kanji for "Ninth Hokage" (四代目火影, Rikkudo Hokage) written vertically down the back, and closed on the front by a thin orange rope.
Unlike his nephews, Sannotō bears rather dark silver hair that gives off a distinctive blue tint. Like his younger brother, he has rather darkened skin than most Uchiha, giving him a more tan appearance. Similar to Itachi Uchiha, however, Sannotō is shown to have a menacing and intense look within his eyes. His hair is kept flowing, but is more rigid in comparison to his two nephews. Ibitsu is normally shown wearing a short-sleeved long white coat over his normal attire, decorated by flames-like motifs on the edges, with the kanji for "Ninth Hokage" (四代目火影, Rikkudo Hokage) written vertically down the back, and closed on the front by a thin orange rope.. The collar is noticeably kept up, in that witnessing Ibitsu from a horizontal view would keep his lower face region blocked. The edges of the cloak are red, with strange armor designs on the ends of the bell-shaped sleeves. It was noted that the design represents the Ten Tailed Beast devouring the sun. He seems to be the only Leaf member that wears armor on his sleeves. Underneath his cloak, he is shown to wear a common white short-sleeved shirt with loose-fitting hakama.
In his childhood, Ryun was a very bright and upbeat child, evident from his frequent smiling and kind behavior towards almost anyone. After his brother's death as a peace offering to Kumogakure, which would eventually lead the end of the SecondGreat Shinobi World War, he vowed to kill the person responsible and destroy the village of Kumogakure. At first, perhaps due to a promise he made to his cousin, Hakushoku Uchiha, he spared the innocent and only killed when necessary. However, as his desire to avenge his dead brother grew, he tossed this aside, as shown from his ruthless encounter with Kaguya. He did, however, hold on to the notion of friendship, as shown from his somewhat kind emotions towards Seireitou Kawahiru, his fellow Yonkō. During that same ruthless encounter with Kaguya, he refused to kill Seireitou, even though the former promised to revive his brother if he did so, claiming that his brother would never look him in the eye if he did such an act.
After his brother is revived with a Tensei Ninjutsu by Seireitou's lover, Shiori Miyamoto, Ryun is floored with immense guilt over the actions he had committed since his initial departure from Kumogakure, shown from his intense weeping for Shiori as she passes away. The fact that his brother hadn't aged one bit since his death (due to the nature of Shiori's jutsu) only caused his weeping to increase. Seeing Seireitou's determination to never give up and to never stop living, despite his loved one's death, shocked Ryun greatly, as he now knew that Seireitou was the only person in the world who understood his pain. He was even more surprised that Seireitou was moving on, when Ryun himself had for so long clung to his brother's unfair death. Realizing that he could now begin anew, Ryun began to set his own path in the world. Over the next few years, Ryun's determination to find happiness was evident in his reliance on his friends and his love for power, rather than his hateful and vengeful feelings. Even after his wife, Kyūka, dies, he keeps his chin up, despite his great pain at her passing.
His new feelings have, overtime, changed people's opinions of him. Seireitou now views him as redeemed, and Ōnoki, the Third Tsuchikage, no longer views him as an international criminal and invited him to live in Konohagakure after the Fourth Great Shinobi World War. Ryun remains ruthless against anyone he deems an enemy, however, he is now far more protective of his allies and his new village. He also seems to be able to recognize and understand those who have lost someone important to them.
Ryun seems to hate titles, as he tells Kai Taizen that he would rebuke the name of Yonkō if it meant the pains of the past would vanish. He also longs for peace, though he claims that he will not settle for "false peace", claiming that he'd take war any day over false peace.
Now his only mission is to kill Madara Uchiha for creating false peace and killing many for no reason.
Most of Ibitsu's abilities are still unknown. He is thought to be one of, if not the, strongest Uchiha to ever live, and one of the most gifted ninja in history. He has also been noted to have been born with particularly powerful chakra, having an unusually large amount of chakra, even by Uchiha standards. Shiroke, upon sensing Ibitsu, stated she had never seen so much chakra in one place. Even when he fought without his Sharingan's power in one instance, Riyan compared his chakra supply to that of of himself. His Father, Madara, claims that Ibitsu is similar to Naruto, in that both have the strongest Tailed-Beast in the world. He is also said to have been able to force a jinchuriki of the Nine-Tails to manifest it's chakra cloak, no matter the jinchuriki's control over the beast.
Arguably the most fearsome trait of Ibitsu is his tremendous intellect. He is well-versed in the history, strategy, tactics of the ninja world, and is privy to knowledge previously unknown to many, such as knowing of the existence of the Mangekyo before he or his Father had awakened it, as well as the obscure method in which to obtain it. Throughout the series since his introduction, he has shown himself to be a very crafty and cunning man. The most noticeable trait is his ability to deceive and manipulate others around them in multiple manners. For years, he was effectively able to convince everyone around him that he was a strong-hearted leader with the best intentions for the ninja world, while still only caring about the welfare of the Uchiha. He has a great talent for analyzing and observing everything in his presence, allowing him to quickly understand a person's pattern of thinking and better manipulate them. He is also a powerful strategist, capable of formulating well-thought-out plans several steps ahead of others. These plans are incredibly involved and detailed, and are planned-out with the long term in mind, making them seem slightly convoluted. His most well known plan spans over 90 years, a great accomplishment given that it required moving people around like pieces on a chessboard, as well as making sure they played the role he had planned out for them. He is masterful when it comes to "plans within plans".
He has also shown himself as a powerful and flexible tactician, capable of adjusting seamlessly to any given combat situation. Though it can be said that the majority of his tactics rely heavily on his Sharingan's special abilities, there are few better tactics than manipulating all the senses of your opponents, making it easier for one to attack. Despite viewing his power as worlds beyond others, he is also shown to be highly cautious in battle, placing special protections on himself to leave no blind-spots.
Being of the Uchiha Clan, and as noted by Riyan, Ibitsu is a true successor of the Sharingan eye. From a stationary position, he would study an opponent's movements with his Sharingan and respond accordingly, often with a genjutsu. He could cast a genjutsu by merely pointing at or looking at someone, and could similarly turn an opponent's genjutsu against them with Demonic Illusion: Mirror Heaven and Earth Change. Ibitsu had trained so much with his eyes that he had reached the stage where he could have his Sharingan activated all the time, with minimal drain on his chakra levels.
The eyes most fearsome trait allows him access to the Izanagi technique, a jutsu forbidden even amongst the Uchiha clan. When the justu is activated, Ibitsu temporarily gains the power to turn the reality within his personal space into an illusion. With the ability to turn his own body into a genjutsu, Ibitsu is capable of negating any injury he should receive from an opponent. This allows him to survive otherwise fatal attacks, while still retaining the ability to inflict physical injury to his opponent. However, the side effect of the jutsu is that for every 60 seconds Izanagi remains activated, he loses sight in his Sharingan eyes. However, he is the first Uchiha to master this technique and negate the ensuing blindness. Once his Eternal Mangekyo was unlocked, he noticed that he could use Izanagi for the full 60 seconds, with the new side effect being that his vision becomes severely blurred for 60 seconds after the technique, leaving him vulnerable. Once his sight becomes clear again, he can use Izanagi once more.
Ibitsu had mastered his Sharingan at a young age, and received praise for this. With his Sharingan, Ibitsu was able to silence any foe without any sort of physical contact, using specialized experimental techniques he developed himself. Taking an interest in the capabilities he could preform by mixing his knowledge of genetics and chemistry with the imaginative potential of the Sharingan, Ibitsu often stole the eyes of deceased Uchiha members, attempting to design techniques that could overcome the Sharingan's immunity to illusions by using another Sharingan. He had trained so much with his eyes that he had reached the stage where he could have his Sharingan activated all the time, with minimal drain on his chakra levels.
From a stationary position, he would study an opponent's movements with his Sharingan and respond accordingly, often with a genjutsu or a summoning. He could cast a genjutsu by merely pointing at or looking at someone, and could similarly turn an opponent's genjutsu against them. Most of his genjutsu are derived from the Sharingan, but regardless of whether they are or not, all of them cause powerfully mental trauma. Strangely enough, Ibitsu revealed usage of an intentionality-weakened Amaterasu from the base state of Sharingan. He could have it erupt from the ground in a form of a massive katana tip, as shown against Ryun Uchiha. Ibitsu possessed a unique dōjutsu of the highest caliber, that was originally thought to only be within the possession of Shisui Uchiha; it could be assumed that the technique was taken from Shisui's dead body, as Danzō took the other eye of Shisui's Sharingan and the latter's left arm. It allowed Ibitsu to control the mind of the target to the point where even the one it was being used on wasn't aware of it themselves.
In the aftermath of his research, Ibitsu was able to combine the bloodline of the Senju along with the Namikaze to perfect his Sharingan. The Sharingan eye retains the same color, but with the addition of three rings and three tomoe on each ring, summing in nine total. The appearance can be said to be almost exact to the Ten-Tailed Beast. The full powers of his new eyes are not yet shown, but he is capable of using Rinnegan-limited abilities, such as long-range detection. The eyes also grant him the usage of the Nine Tomoe of Sannotō.
Ibitsu first awakened his Mangekyō Sharingan after his best friend Riyan Senju was killed in action, the emotional trauma caused by the incident allowed him to awaken the Mangekyo within his eyes. Devastated by his best friend’s death and feeling powerless, Ibitsu awakened his Mangekyō Sharingan for the first time. Ibitsu's Mangekyō takes the appearance of six pointed spiral like pattern. Unlike other Sharingan, which have a black design and red background, Ibitsu's Mangekyō is one of the few that is shown to have a red design and a black background. After gaining the Mangekyō Sharingan, it increased Ibitsu's power greatly, and enabled him to use his most powerful techniques.
With his left eye, he uses a technique called Fucking Brahma, a powerful genjutsu that allows him to control or alter the victim's perception of reality by controlling the five senses to such a point that it can make the target misinterpret between reality and illusion. With this technique he is able to create simple or complex illusions to deceive opponents. With his right eye he can use squirting Shiva, a unique space time manipulation jutsu that allows him to teleport himself or others to another location virtually instantaneously. He does this by means of displacing himself through an alternate dimension briefly and reappearing in a desired location. His final technique is called blowjob Vishnu, a technique that uses the power of the Mangekyō Sharingan to bring forth a spectral being, the being itself is a reflections of a his inner self a manifestation of Ryoji's inner power and his desire to protect his friends and family. His overall control over the blowjob Vishnu ability is great and has mastered the technique to such a degree that he is able to manifest single parts of the spectral being at a time without having the need to summon the entire being.
Despite his mastery over the Mangekyō Sharingan, Ryoji does suffer from the side effects of using these powerful jutsu's. Each of the techniques bestowed by the Mangekyō Sharingan requires high amounts of chakra to perform, and if they are used for extended periods of time then Ryoji is left fatigued afterward, to the point where he needs to deactivate his Sharingan altogether, something that he does not usually need to do. However, if he uses all three techniques simultaneously then the amount of chakra used is so great that he has to be hospitalized for a week after using all three techniques in one day.fucking indians..
Shien obtained the Rinnegan through a yet to be known method. But it's insinuated he found a damaged one and revitalized it as he claimed it was sensitive. Despite it's gentle condition, it still affords him all the Kekkei Genkaitechniques that come with it, as such he is able to use the power of the Seven Paths. Though it's power is considered inferior to it's previous known user "Nagato", who can destroy an entire hidden village in one attack, Shien currently lacks the power to due this. For the most part, he keeps the fact he has the Rinnegan a secret. However, despite his Rinnegan's weakened state, he has discovered and uses an 8th Path known as the Inner Path. The ability of the Inner Path can allow one total control over their own minds, thus preventing the one who is influenced by this path from being affected by "lies", I.E Genjutsu. Shien obviously plans to use this secret path as a way of negating Madara's plan if he can't be stopped. Shien also hinted that a Jinchūriki affected by the Inner Path may be able to gain complete control over their Tailed Beast, albeit only temporarily. Coincidentally, the Inner Path can be used on the Tailed Beast sealed within, giving them full control of their host.
Nagato's most powerful and most used technique was the Six Paths of Pain(ペイン六道, Pein Rikudō). This technique allowed Nagato to control six separate bodies as though they were his own. Each of these bodies were reanimated corpses that were both kept mobile by and made use of Nagato's chakra. By using these six bodies for combat rather than himself, Nagato avoids the unlikely risk of being killed in battle by a stronger opponent as well as having six different fields of vision, virtually making it impossible to attack any of the bodies without being seen. While controlling them, Nagato used the alias "Pain", yet still regarded them as separate entities from himself. The Pains can't feel physical pain, as Ibiki Morino discovered when he tried torturing the second Animal Path.
In order to use the technique, Nagato remained in a machine that moved with six relatively small mechanical legs and used several large chakra rods on his back to transmit chakra. From his location, the chakra was picked up by the numerous receivers, modelled as body piercings on each body. To control them, Nagato had to be close by, and ideally at the highest possible point, so he could have the best possible range.
Based on the six Buddhist paths of Reincarnation, each body was named after one of the different "paths": Deva, Asura, Human, Animal, Preta, and Naraka. The only common feature shared by these bodies was their bright orange hair and their Rinnegan. Each also had a vast number of body and facial piercings of various shapes, sizes, and patterns. Each body seemed to serve a specific purpose in battle, such as summoning, repairing, and defensive capability. There is also a seventh body, the Outer Path, with control over the forces of life and death.Fukasaku stated, the best way of fighting Pain is to take out the paths one at a time as they were most formidable when fighting together in combos.
As stated by Konan, Nagato is able to use all the powers of the Paths himself, as they are all powers of the Rinnegan.
The Deva Path (天道, Tendō), the first of the Six Paths of Pain to be shown, was the body of Izuna Uchiha. It was the most often seen and used of the six paths, and acted as Ibitsu's representative during Hokage meetings. Its main abilities revolved around manipulating gravity, allowing it to repel or attract objects.
The Preta Path (餓鬼道, Gakidō) was the third of Nagato's Six Paths of Pain to be shown. It was incapacitated during the invasion of Pain after it absorbed too much ofNaruto Uzumaki's senjutsu chakra and turned into a toad statue.
The Outer Path (外道, Gedō) is the seventh path of Pain, not included with the mainSix Paths of Pain. It has control over Life and Death. When used by the Naraka Path, it's used for interrogation and rejuvenation.
He was most famous for his Wood Release jutsu, a kekkei genkai to mix earth and water-natured chakra to create this new element. By converting chakra into the source of life, he was able to create trees, causing them to grow to great sizes and manipulate them to diverse shapes and battle uses at will. It was said that this ability was used to create the very landscape and foundation that Konoha is built on. This ability was apparently unique for him, since none of his relatives were shown using the ability. Even Yamato, the only person to have proved compatible with Hashirama's genes, found his use of Wood Release to be much weaker in raw power. Yamato has also shown great skill in standard water and earth techniques, so it is presumed Hashirama could do water and earth techniques as well.
The ability Orochimaru most highly praised him for was his unique ability to control tailed beasts. Of all his considerable talents, it was this ability in particular that made Hashirama unparalleled in the shinobi world, so much so that he is regarded as one of the few people capable of completely controlling a tailed beast. At one time, he had many of the beasts in his possession. This ability was greatly amplified by his crystal necklace, which Yamato suggested was a requirement to control even Naruto's partial lapses into tailed forms.
As the former leader of the Uchiha clan, he is almost required to be highly proficient in taijutsu combat, which he had been training in ever since he first awakened the Sharingan. He is most likely the most proficient hand-to-hand combatant in all of Tatsu, being able to fight evenly, and gain the upper hand, against his two sons, Madara and Izuna. He can sufficiently block and attack others and is hard to actively lay a hand on unless he allows it.
He is powerful enough to stop Riyan's Susanoo with just one hand (albeit Riyan was merely training with Ibitsu and might not have been going all out) and almost cut him in half with a single swing of his sword. He also stopped Renji's Shikai with his bare hand and broke it with one swing, injuring Fusuma in the process. He was even able to stop Kurisu's giant Totsuka blade with his bare hand, proving his strength was more than enough to combat someone of his same level. Ibitsu is able to effortlessly cut through the spear and wrist of Riyan's Susanoo.
As the former leader of the Uchiha, he is also highly proficient in speed. He actively uses his mastery of speed-related techniques and is highly proficient in evasion in close quarters as well as from a distance. Thus making hitting him almost impossible if not for the most advanced combatant. His movements are noticeably so fast that few would be likely to see an attack take place. It has also been noted by Riyan that his speed is the fastest of all of the Uchiha clan.
Ibitsu is shown to easily outmaneuver Seireitou's Jinchuriki forms and Riyan's Eight Tailed form's-enhanced speed to the point he could casually lay a hand on the former's shoulder and still dodge a point-blank attack. He is capable of effortlessly dodging simultaneous attacks at close range and the evasion of A-rank level techniques. He moves so fast that opponents commonly do not know his movements until after he has made them and is skilled enough in his movements to evade at high speeds even when being attacked from behind.
Madara is almost completely impervious to damage. When struck, attacks pass right through him, though he sometimes pretends to be hurt or cry out in pain. It was speculated by Kakashi that he uses a space–time ninjutsu to instantly send himself or even parts of his body to different locations or some sort of void and then instantly bring them back. The only time Madara's solidity can be confirmed is when he interacts with others, leaving him susceptible to counter-attack when he does so. According to Konan he can only make himself intangible for about five minutes.
Madara also shows the ability to travel long distances within relatively short timespans. While he is usually seen using this ability on himself, avoiding attacks rather than relying on his imperviousness, he can teleport anyone. When he teleports Karin and Sasuke, he sends them to what is a separate dimension. They are forced to stay there until he chooses to release them. The chakra signatures of those that have been teleported completely vanishes. His right eye appears to be the basis for this transportation. It was shown that his body is tangible when he absorbs people, making it possible to attack him, as seen when Konanand Torune managed to injure him when he tried to absorb them.
In his quest to gain immortality, Ibitsu has made a number of modifications to his body, resulting in his natural form taking on the appearance of his Tailed Beast, composed of small snakes. The snakes that compose Ibitsu's body can extend themselves to strike and bind the targets, and if Ibitsu is sliced to pieces, the body simply can reform, making him very difficult to kill. Also, the blood that is released by killing the snakes is also poisonous, evaporating into the air and paralysing anyone who has breathed it in, something that makes long lasting fights against him a bad choice.
The primary use of the form is with his Living Corpse Reincarnation, which allows him to transfer his soul to another body and extend his life indefinitely. To use this jutsu, Ibitsu leaves his former body, revealing his true form. Once he has done this, he swallows the new body and transports its current inhabitant to a dimension within himself where he absorbs them, thus allowing him to take over their body. Orochimaru can only perform this technique once every three years, which is also around the time that his new body begins to reject him and forces him to find a new host. Although he might leave their bodies behind, the souls of those whose bodies he has taken always remain within Ibitsu's subconscious. After taking over another body, Ibitsu modifies it to suit his theme of snakes, in order to increase his survival capabilities, such as stretching and bending his body, reconnect his body from bisection and shedding his skin to heal injuries. Thus, even if Orochimaru is unable to transfer bodies, he can easily heal and evade attacks rendering him virtually immortal. The first person body he ever took was Izuna Uchiha's which made much more powerful.
Like other jinchūriki, Tora has the ability to create a chakra cloak by drawing on part of his demon's power. He can then form this chakra into the form of two big ears, and use them to attack the enemy. This attack has incredible speed and power, but the linearity of his movements makes him easier to predict. Because he has a strong relationship with his own tailed beast, it acts as his partner in battle, disturbing his chakra to dispel genjutsu.
Currently, Ibitsu is capable of using all Ten-Tails. Unlike Naruto's transformations, Tora's body does not mutate when he reaches or goes past four-tails. However, Ibitsu (also like other Jinchuriki) has a Level Two Jinchuriki form, in which he decides how many tails he will use, then his body morphs and is covered by blood (exactly like Naruto's four-tailed form), which is his Tailed Beast's power in human form.
In addition to the sheer number of skills at Ibitsu's disposal, he has an extensive knowledge of and skill with elemental jutsu. He has shown mastery of his natural affinity towards fire chakra, being able to use several high-level fire-based jutsu without hand seals. Even Riyan, an extremely experienced member of the Uchiha, immediately recognized his target to be Uchiha Ibitsu after seeing his prowess in fire jutsu. With much assistance from his Sharingan he has mastered multiple elements furthered by his old age, which he is able to use together for various combo attacks or strategies. Individually, he is able to perform lightning-based jutsu with great detail in their shape and is able to perform water-based jutsu without an existing water source nearby. He has also been shown using wind-based jutsu, and he is otherwise at least knowledgeable enough with Earth Release to help train Riyan in its use.
Ryun was born in the Hidden Leaf. He was born during end the Third Great Shinobi World War in an Uchiha Outpost on the outskirts of the Land of Fire. Due to the situation in which he was born into, he was trained from the moment he could walk. He awakened his Sharingan at seven, and mastered it by nine, which was when he was also considered a Genin. He first came to Konoha at the age of ten, when he arrived with a supply convoy. His skills proved him to be at the level of a Chūnin, so he quickly became one. Towards the end of the war, when he was twelve, his brother, Mataiden, also his best friend, was killed by Danzō as a "peace offering" toKumogakure. Ryun's rage with the village led to the awakening of his Mangekyō Sharingan. He goes on a rampage throughout the Leaf Village, killing many civilians. Danzō comes to stop Ryun, however, he is only able to force Ryun out of the village.
Several years later, Ryun discovers Madara Uchiha in the woods of the Land of Rain. Madara explains to Ryun about his plan to go to the Hidden Leaf and end it's existence for good. Ryun explains that he doesn't care and leaves Madara, encountering Itachi Uchiha along the way. Ryun points Itachi in the direction of Madara, before departing again. Ryun would later watch the Nine-Tailed Fox attack on Konoha happen, as he is nearby during the event. He even spots Madara, who was controlling the Fox, but decides not to get involved.
Further on down the road, Ryun enters Land of Mountains and it's Hidden Village, Yamagakure, where he was sheltered for three and a half years. During which time, he meets Seireitou Kawahiru, Echo Uchiha, and Hikaru Kurosaki. Seireitou becomes his rival right from the start, and the two engage in several battles to see who's strongest. During one of their fights, Seireitou inflicts a wound on Ryun that leaves his trademark scar. The four outlaws eventually become known as the Yonkō, even though they did not travel as a unit. Thought they would save each other from hard situations when it was needed, and sometimes even fought each other. Ryun was always close to the other three members and usually only fought them to train or have a rivalry match, however, the other three would sometimes fight each other for personal gains, a prime example being Echo and Seireitou. Ryun then builds a bunker on the boarder of the Land of Mountains, to be his home indefinitely.
Later, Ryun and his teammates Kuro Tsū, and Shiori and Seireitou set out to hunt for Ryun's deceased brother's eyes, in hopes of completing his Mangekyō Sharingan. Seireitou teleports the group them to a large swampy area. After being advised to do so by Seireitou, Ryun uses Susanoo's ribcage form and follows Seireitou further. The group stumbles upon a large demon, which is quickly killed by Seireitou; causing a large vortex to appear, which the group leaps in to. A genjutsu of Mataiden is shown to Ryun, causing his anger to rise as Seireitou is caught by a mysterious woman's strange jutsu. Ryun then shatters the genjutsu, thanks to his Mangekyō Sharingan. Seireitou frees himself just in time to warn Ryun about the woman attacking him with her sword. Ryun's Susanoo stops the blow and catches her with it's arm. Seireitou forms hand seals and does his Darumatechnique to absorb the woman, before asking Ryun if he was alright. Ryun shrugs him off and follows him to the man named Hirokashi. The man opened his eyes, revealing a pair of Sharingan, before transforming into a Hell-bound and attacking. Ryun tried cutting the beast in two with his Susanoo's tonbogiri, and even using Inari on it, but to no avail. Finally, his Susanoo manages to hold it down as he plucks the eyes out. While Tatsu fights the Hell-bound, Shiori implants the eyes into Ryun and he defeats the beast with ease.
The group camps once back in the swamps, and the next day, they venture to the mountains in the Land of Rain. Though hesitant, Seireitou and Shiori join the voyage. Kamui Kawahiru ambushes the group and though Ryun is able to fight on par for a brief moment, Kamui soon overwhelms him. Fusuma then appears and saves him from Kamui, causing the latter to retreat.
Before the era of ninja villages, Madara was the most gifted member of the Uchiha clan. Even by his clan's standards, Madara's chakra was unusually strong. He grew up in constant competition with his younger brother, Izuna Uchiha. In their efforts to surpass the other, each gained their ownMangekyō Sharingan. With the power of the Mangekyō the two brothers took control of the clan, with Madara acting as its leader. Under his leadership, the clan conquered all they came across. Because of the never-ending series of battles of the time, Madara eventually began to suffer from overuse of the Mangekyō Sharingan, leaving him blind. In order to regain his sight he took Izuna's eyes for himself, granting him an "eternal" Mangekyō Sharingan with which he led the Uchiha to prosperity. Madara insists Izuna consented to the act.
The truce made by the Senju clan was accepted by Uchiha clan.
Over the years, the Uchiha had constantly fought with the equally powerfulSenju clan. To bring an end to the constant fighting, the leader of the Senju,Hashirama Senju, approached the Uchiha with an offer of peace. Although Madara never wanted peace with the Senju, the rest of the Uchiha wished to end the fighting, and Madara had no choice but to accept. The Senju, the Uchiha, and all the clans they had conquered came together to form the village of Konohagakure. Against Madara's wishes, the villagers selected Hashirama as the village's first Hokage. Madara feared that Hashirama would oppress the Uchiha, and tried to rally support for challenging his leadership. Rather than help him, however, the Uchiha turned their backs on him, believing he only desired more power. Abandoned by his clan, Madara left the village, later returning in order to challenge Hashirama in battle. They fought at the site that would someday be called the Valley of the End, where Madara used the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox against Hashirama. Control of the Nine-Tails was ultimately taken from him and Madara was believed to have died. Despite appearing to have been defeated and gravely weakened, he was somehow able to acquire a sample of Hashirama Senju's DNA to aid him in his future goals.

Twelve years before the start of the series, Madara discovered that Kushina Uzumaki, the Nine-Tails' jinchūriki, would be going into childbirth, causing the seal keeping the Nine-Tails contained within her to weaken. Madara found where Kushina was being kept, killed her ANBU bodyguards and midwives, and took her son, Naruto, hostage. Naruto's father, the Fourth Hokage, Minato Namikaze, took Naruto back from him, in doing so separating himself from Kushina and allowing Madara to flee with her. As the seal was about to break, Madara used his Sharingan to put the Nine-Tails under his control. Since Kushina survived the extraction, Madara tried to have the Nine-Tails kill her. Minato arrived in time to save her and retreat. Madara, uninterested, summoned the Nine-Tails into Konoha and ordered it to destroy the village.
Minato soon afterwards arrived to help in the village's defence. Before he could contribute much or even tell anyone what had happened, Madara located him and tried to use his space–time jutsu to send him away and prevent further interference. Minato was able to use his own teleportation jutsu to escape, but Madara pursued him. The two began fighting and Minato struggled to successfully strike Madara. After several failed attacks, Minato finally hit Madara with the Rasengan and branded him with a seal for his Flying Thunder God Technique, allowing him to teleport to Madara whenever he wanted. He then used a Contract Seal on Madara to remove the Nine-Tails from his control. Wounded and deprived of his best weapon, Madara fled, stating that the Nine-Tails would be his again someday and that he still had other plans.
A few years later, Madara infiltrated Konoha to try to rekindle the flames of war. He was found by Itachi Uchihafirst, who convinced Madara to spare the village in exchange for helping to wipe out the Uchiha clan for deserting him decades earlier. Madara complied, training Itachi and providing assistance. However, Itachi never truly trusted Madara and kept an eye on him for the rest of his life.

Taking control of the SixthMizukage, in effect making him the "real" Mizukage. Kisame Hoshigaki was one of the few Kirigakure ninja to know of his manipulation of the Fourth. Kisame helped Madara to bring about an end to the "world of lies".
The kanji for his name translates as "Warped" and as "Elliptical".
All of his current Lightning Release jutsu are copied with his Sharingan from Kakashi and Sasuke's variants of Chidori. The reason behind this is because Ibitsu often kept an eye on Konoha, as it had formidable jutsu, and whenever a good jutsu came along he would attempt to copy it with his Sharingan.
